SEQUENCERS

Illumina NovaSeq 6000:
The NovaSeq 6000 System provides tremendous scalability and flexibility to accommodate diverse applications and project sizes, while achieving maximum operational efficiency. Runs can include a single flow cell or two flow cells simultaneously. Customers have their choice of 3 flow cell types and can easily adjust output for each sequencing run. With such highly tunable data output, we will be able to run virtually any genome, sequencing method, and scale of project. The NovaSeq 6000 System is compatible with a broad range of Illumina library preparation kits, from transcriptome sequencing to whole-genome sequencing and everything in between. High-quality, high-coverage sequencing offers a comprehensive view of the genome to detect variants accurately, characterize isoforms, and more. With increased throughput and reduced price per sample, the NovaSeq 6000 System is ideal for data-intensive applications

Illumina MiSeq:
The MiSeq system of automated paired-end reads and up to 15 Gb per run, delivering over 600 bases of sequence data per read. The library prep kits that it uses are optimized for a variety of applications, including targeted gene, small genome, and amplicon sequencing, 16S metagenomics, and more.

Illumina iSeq:
The NTGC plans on using the iSeq 100 System to conduct smaller projects and experiments, which will allow us to avoid running small sample batches on high-throughput instruments. Additionally, we can use the iSeq to evaluate libraries before a large-scale run, eliminating the risk of high-cost failures on higher throughput sequencers.

QC INSTRUMENTS

BioTek Synergy HTX plate reader:
The Synergy HTX Multi-Mode Microplate Reader is a compact, affordable system with excellent scalability, allowing users to run 6- to 384-well microplates. Its unique dual optics design provides superior performance for UV-Vis absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence. Features include incubation and shaking, plus a dual reagent injector module, which translates to excellent assay flexibility both now and in the future. The Synergy HTX is controlled by the easy-to-use, yet powerful, Gen5 Software for data collection, analysis, exporting and reporting. Further, the Synergy HTX is robot accessible and compatible with BioTek’s BioStack Microplate Stacker.

Advanced Analytical 96-capillary Fragment Analyzer:

LIQUID HANDLING ROBOTICS

Eppendorf EpMotion 5075t:

The 5075t combines unique mixing performance with excellent temperature control to guarantee complete, dependable, and reproducible assay results. The robot combines high flexibility with 14.5 deck positions and an integrated Thermomixer. The fully integrated ThermoMixer with 2DMix-Control improves yield and application results. The gripper tool allows transport of labware on the worktable and the stacking of up to 5 plates at a time is possible. It is controlled by a MultiCon industry PC and can be configured with the CleanCap UV source and up to 2 additional thermal modules. NGS library preparation involves extensive manual processing that can be subject to human error. The Eppendorf EpMotion system is a critical tool for the NTGC in order to significantly increase throughput and consistency of results. The automation of labor-intensive steps in NGS sample prep, like pipetting, mixing, temperature control and magnetic separation brings about a standardized and streamlined process, with significantly reduced hands-on time and minimization of human errors. Further, EpMotion automation methods for Illumina’s TruSeq Stranded Total RNA & TruSeq Stranded mRNA library preparation kits for Next Generation Sequencing have already been validated by Eppendorf and are “Illumina Qualified”.

Eppendorf EpMotion 5073m:

The 5073m automated liquid handling system is tailored for a variety of purification protocols, but is flexible for other liquid handling tasks as well. The integrated magnetic finger and ThermoMixer module is ideal for magnetic size selection and cleanup methods, saving hands-on time and improving the reproducibility of results. It is controlled by MultiCon PC and can be configured with CleanCap. The M5073 comes with specific tools and accessories for nucleic acid purification and NGS library construction and cleanup.
